Science Communication Workshops

Science Communication Workshops

I have developed and delivered workshops and training on several science communication topics to postgraduate students and researchers from a range of disciplines. I have delivered these workshops in Ireland (Trinity College Dublin, DCU, UCD, NUI Galway, Science Gallery, The Law Society, TUS, LERO, An Taisce) and internationally (UCSF, University of Newcastle, Science Gallery).

Session 1 provides an overview of science communication research and practice, highlighting the tools, principles, and networks that help us engage new communities and audiences. Session 2 offers practical support in developing a piece of science communication in a variety of formats—as a written piece, a video, a social media campaign, an event, or an exhibit.

Session 1 covers pre-production (ideas, research, and planning), session 2 is production (interviews and recording), and session 3 is post-production (editing, sound design, mixing, and distribution).
