Radio and Podcasts

Radio and Podcasts

In 2013, I co-founded the audio production business 'aka BUREAU' with artist Maurice Kelliher to produce radio documentaries, podcasts, and audio content for national broadcast, festivals, venues, and events. We make content on a range of themes and topics, with a focus on stories and voices we don’t usually get to hear from. We have produced reports for BBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service; documentaries for Newstalk, Irish Design 2015, and Festival of Curiosity; and podcast series for clients that include University College Dublin, Inspirefest, Future Human, and LGBT History Month UK. In 2017 we were shortlisted for the worldwide Alan Whicker Audio Recognition Award, and our work has received praise from many reviewers and journalists.

Absorbing… If only all minorities got such a nuanced hearing

Essential listening... it’s not just powerful, it’s enlightening
— Silicon Republic (on All Mine)

We make documentaries independently, and we are open to new collaborations. We make podcasts and audio content for clients, and we welcome all enquiries. Our focus is on providing high quality, engaging content featuring voices that we don’t usually get to hear, and we have a particular interest in science and social stories. Earthlings in Outer Space

Since the 1940s, a menagerie of non-human animals have journeyed to outer space – flies, frogs, cats, mice and more. This short documentary was commissioned by Festival of Curiosity to tell the stories of creatures that have left our atmosphere, from spiders in zero gravity to jellyfish in orbit.

Saturn’s Last Soul

The Astroholic Explains is a fantastic podcast about space (you can subscribe here). I joined them as guest producer of their Christmas Special, a short audio drama written by Alfredo Carpineti and directed by Chris Carpineti. Saturn’s Last Soul mixes science fiction and horror.
